Hachi Kun our tortoise
04 July 2010
Chiku family has a new family member, our lovely tortoise, now named Hachi! Kun because is a he.
(can't really tell but they said the poo poo place is further away from the fattest part of the tail, i.e. closer to the tip of the tail wor)
David said the tortoise is very smart and cheeky. On the first day, we treated him shrimp and then the next day, he wouldn't eat vegetables which he should eat. Not even the swelling tortoise food tablet. Well, either the tablet is not nice or hard when dried or Hachi is just being picky....
Today, he was prison breaked throught and climbed up to the mos mosquito net. His little nails claw right into the tiny holes of the net and climbed up. Think he liked the sun light so he went directly towards the window.
It is his second day in the Chiku family (Today 06 July 2010). Welcome Hachi!

First interaction with the Japanese kids
02 July 2010 at 16:15pm
As I was surfing the internet downstairs, there are these two boys, holding a small lobsters in their hands.
With my limited baby talking Nihongo skills, I managed to say Konichiwa and they understood and talked back to me!
Then they explain to me about the lobster.... pretended that I understood what they were saying, I said Kawai ne!
Then they said more things and again, I pretend to understand and said 'So des ne'.....
Haha, that was my first Japanese conversation with Nihon jin kids!
