Thank God that there is online sermon!
Five purposes from God for your life. God has five reasons for creating us and place us here...
Rev 4:11 - You created everytyhing, and it is for your pleasure that they exist and were created. You and I constantly brings joy to God. We live in a imperfect world. We have so much doubt of our existance. You are created for God's pleasure / enjoyment. : >
1. Worship God (to love Him back) Mat 22:37-38 - Love the Lord your God, this iss the first and the greatest commandment!
Roman 12:1 - Because of God's great mercy..offer yourself as a living sacrifice to God. Dedicating yourself to His service and His
Worship is my response of God's love. Worship is a reaction, a respond, giving something to God. If they can't respond to God, they are either dead physically or spiritually...
God initiates, then we appropiatly respond to Him. He is the one who provides, protects.
When we receive from God, we say 'I am blessed'. So that we can respond to Him, by giving it back to Him, the blessing, that He gave us.
!Whenever you give anything back or offer anything to God, that is Worship!
When giving something back to God, it is not about what you give, it is about your heart!
Just like a son giving a his favourite biscuit to his father. The son didn't eat his favourite biscuit, saved the biscuit and give it to his father as a present. The father can of course buy huimself many biscuits, and also he is the one who buys biscuits for his son. Father don't need the biscuits, but it pleases the father when his son offer something back to his father/parents. It is not about what the son gives, it is about his heart!
Mark 12:30 - love your God with all your soul, all your mind and all your strength. God wants us to love Him thoughtfully, passionatly and practically. God wants us to think through. It must be thoughful. It is not about how expensive the present it but thoughtful. Passion must be there (all yu rmind). God wants us to practically (with all his strength), it means the talents you have.
God doesn't have our attention unless we give him, taht is loving God with our mind
God doesn't have our affection, all our heart and soul
God doesn't have our ability, action, that is loving God with all our strength
Attention, affection and our ability are all from God. It is God who enables us to action!
All these ablity is made possible because God has made it possible! Who are we His creation, so smal, so tiny, yet we can give something back to God...our attention, our affection, our ability.
First purpose - Focusing my attention on God! That is worship!
God wants us to use our mind to focus on Him. Just going through the motion, we do things religiously, and dont' even think through, i.e. because we have sang the songs for a long time.
When we fall in love with God, we think about Him all the time. Our attention, our focus is on Him all the time. Fix your attention on Him. We can't focus on two things at a time.
Worship is expression my affection to God. When singing praises, we can raise our hands, dance to express our affection to God. May be we really need to get a glimps of this great God, then we show our affection.
Worhsip is using my ablities for God. Love is active. Col 3:23 - What ever you do, work at it with all your heart as you are working for God, not for people. God wants us to serve Him with our action.
Most important reminder to me is this.....
You can't change who you are working for. When you change, but when you change your mentality, you are working for God and not for man. It is not about what you do tomrorow, it is about who you are doing it for.
It is about who you are doing it for. What is God's will for me, what how and when does God want me to do?! Why do you do it, is the most important question.
All that I have, I give it back to God. If this is prayer...
Help us to worship you by focusing our attention on you. To worship you affectionaly. To love you passionatly with all our hearts and soul. To use the ability you have given us to worhsip you practically in action. In Jesus' name we pray
