Fivemore new fishy members

on 05 Sep 2010, we bought three baby Chik Prince (they are actually algae eating fish).  Their little long thin body have a horizontal blank line on.  The top of of the body is a little bit gold. : >

On 04 Sep 2010, two gold fish join the family.  Of course they are in the seperate tank of Medaka.  One named McDonald, because it has a red lip like Uncle McDonald.  The other call Mos burger, just because we like Mos burger??

Even in Vermilion game, we like to use ocean beast.  So every pet, entertainment is circled around with ocean related creatures! : P

Thank God for the fishes, for the LOV, for the Love from Hun, for the food we have, for the house we live in, the good times we have, the not so happy times we have so we learn to look upon Jesus once again.  Praise the Lord!

Good weekends

Every weekend has been good!

This past weekend 14-15 Aug 2010 was good indeed.

Apart from getting the rare Lord of Vermilion card - Happy Bird, we had bought 10 White Japanese rice fish (Medaka) and one algae eating fish. :>  Unfortunatly, one female (mesu in Japanese) died...

Story of getting the Happy bird card.  As Hun Hun knew I love the bird card, so... he was very brave to use the limited Japanese and indeed manage to swap one of our rare card with the other Japanese guy!  That guy was kind enough to swap with us.  Thank you to my Hun that we now had the Bird card! ^3^

We were trying to rear the fish outdoor without pumps, just with pond weeds.  so far the fishes are doing fine and swimming quite happily.

Planning on getting more mesu so to rear more Medaka..ssss

Tortoise Hachi passed away... Insect 'sim' making noises

Sad news today as our newly bought tortoise has passed away.  When we bought him, we noticed a small white spot on top of his left eye.  Then it got a little better but never went away.  When Hun went away to Sappora for five days, Hachi didn't eat the food in the tank....  Then it stopped eating and the white spot got larger.....  Until this morning, we noticed Hachi is gone....  RIP Hachi.

End of July, August time, there are many insect making noises in the trees.  Those are called 'Sim' in Cantonese.

By this July/August, there are not much flower in the garden.  Starting from the end of Feb/March, there are cherry blossoms.  Then many other pretty flowers come up in Spring time, around April-June time.

Hachi Kun our tortoise

04 July 2010

Chiku family has a new family member, our lovely tortoise, now named Hachi! Kun because is a he.

(can't really tell but they said the poo poo place is further away from the fattest part of the tail, i.e. closer to the tip of the tail wor)

David said the tortoise is very smart and cheeky.  On the first day, we treated him shrimp and then the next day, he wouldn't eat vegetables which he should eat.  Not even the swelling tortoise food tablet.  Well, either the tablet is not nice or hard when dried or Hachi is just being picky....

Today, he was prison breaked throught and climbed up to the mos mosquito net.  His little nails claw right into the tiny holes of the net and climbed up.  Think he liked the sun light so he went directly towards the window.

It is his second day in the Chiku family (Today 06 July 2010).  Welcome Hachi!

First interaction with the Japanese kids

02 July 2010 at 16:15pm

As I was surfing the internet downstairs, there are these two boys, holding a small lobsters in their hands.

With my limited baby talking Nihongo skills, I managed to say Konichiwa and they understood and talked back to me!

Then they explain to me about the lobster....  pretended that I understood what they were saying, I said Kawai ne!

Then they said more things and again, I pretend to understand and said 'So des ne'.....

Haha, that was my first Japanese conversation with Nihon jin kids!

Good weekend with friends in Japan

25 June 2010

David and I met Yan Taw and Teresa, had lunch in Cafe Wako-shi.

They went to Tokyo for their holiday so they meet us.

They had a tour around our rented flat in RIKEN.

After lunch, we went to Kawagoe to see the old buildings.  Had dinner at Ikebukuro BBQ.

26 June 2010

Early day for us!!  Had 4 hours of sleep, then got up at 05:00 am.  Met them at Shinjuku Tiffany at 06:30 am.  Had half an hour round journey around Shinjuku by train because we were at a diffferent 'Shinjuku' station. ...-_-"

Then when we were at the Fish market Tsujiki, we waited 3 hours at Sushi dai for breakfast.  The fish was very fresh and sweet.  It is very tummy indeed!  The waiter serving us is very funny.  Think he is the jewel of the restaurant as he can speaks cantonese (fish names).  Then we walked to Ginza.  Had high tea at Dalloyau (name of the shop).  Took underground to Roppongi, took pictures with the street art.  Though tiring, it was a good fun day we all had.

Joke song

I exalt me.

There is none like me.  No one else can touch my heart like I do.  I could search for all eternity long and find, there is none like me.

Original worship song version

I exalt thee!
There is none like you (Jesus).

He made His point.....the most important points in this whole wide world

"I have made know to you everything I heard from my Father" - John 15:15

We learn beverity from Jesus.  His greatest sermon can be read in eight minutes (Matthew 5:7)
He summarize prayers in five phares (Matthew 6:9-13)
He silenced accuser with one challenge (John 8:7)
He accused a soul with one sentence (Luke 23:43)
He summarised the law in three versus (Mark 12:29-31)
And He reduced all His teachings to one command (John 15:112)

He made His point and went home.

Funny stories about Hun

Story 1

David likes to study the life of a spider and cockaroach.  Back in Australia, he could stare at them for hours.  Here is what he told me.  One day the spider live in the coner with his nice web.  Then came a cockaroach, the spider is a small one, yet gentle that it didn't bite at the cockaroach, like the other vicious spiders.  It simply produced loads of web silk and wrap round the cockaroach.  Although the cockaroach is trapped but still alive.  Then sometime later, David noticed the cockaroached produced some oily substance on it's back.  As it's back is more shinier than before, so it must have been something it produced to escaped the spider trap.  The cockaroach struggled a bit and then came free!  First amazing thing is the cockaroach can produce oily substance.  However, the main point of this story is that David had that patience, interest and close observation to study the life of a spider and cockaroach.  ^3^

Story 2

The chameleon Chik is so good at catching mosquitoes.  His ears can hear the mosquito sound and his chameleon eye can see in the dark and manage to catch it!  Aren't God so cool at creating our eye, retina, colour rods and cones.  No camera so far can be as good as our eye balls.  (one thing to thank God about)

Story 3

His love for his darling.....tomatoes.  Even the song and the lyrics he wrote has to include tomato too!  Hahahaha ^3^

Story 4

Don't underestimates his slowness.  His ping pong skills are quite fast ga!

Story 5

To be continued!

Another good weekend!

12 June 2010

We went to the Sea paradise in Yokohama.  Thank God the weather was sunny!  Althought the transport journey was a bit long, however, under David's guidance, we manage to get there.  The lovlyest creature we have ever seen is the bottlenose white dolphin!  This creation is one of the most cutest......  They are white all over, have a huge forehead, no dorsal fin, sweetest look ever!!!  I mean......they are just so so cute!!!  KAWAI NE!!!!!  We stopped at Ikebukuro and found Putin the rabbit holding the little 'Chik' ah!  So undoubtly, Irene together with her darling David-san manage to clamp Putin back home.

Also we saw the most ancient fish at the game 'clamp' station too.  However, we can't take them home..... sup sup...

13 June 2010

We had a relaxing morning that day.  The it is TAITO gaming time!  That day we gained quite a bit of coins on catching the goldfishes....  : > We had Mos burger before and the Ito Yokado food for dinner.  Great day it was!

14 June 2010

Pray that God will continue to bless Hun's working week ahead.  May God continue to use his skills, talents, sharpen them and use them for God's glory.  If it is God's will for Him to do His work at Riken, may God bless Him abunduntly, or tell us so if God has other plans for us.  Help both of us to grow in God.

John 14:6 - I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me

Quoted from the bible John 14:6

From the age of 6 until 12, every time when I take the bus from home to school or even to Causeway Bay, I would see the title of this Post.

Only when I became a Christian at the age of 19 in university, then I realised how God have been calling me all these years.  How stubborn and blinded I was.

Indeed, Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Him!!!!!

Thank God for All His servants!

Thank God for all the Pastors all over the world, taking care of God's sheep.

Thank God for all the ministries around the world, spreading God's amazing Grace, found in His word - The Bible

Thank God for all the writers, the writing books that inspire people and aid people to know God more.

Most important of all is to thank God for Jesus Christ, that the whole world can be saved through faith in Him!

This amazing free gift.

Thank God so so much!

Amazing God

God is just so Amazing!!!!

David Chik plants, waters and fertilises, but only God makes the Tomato plant grows!!!

Back in the end of April, we got the small Tomato plant from Ito Yokada supermarket.  Then in the beginning of May time, David carefully transplanted those baby plants into bigger pots, gave them water, fertilizers, basically loads of tender care la.  Now they have produced many sets of flowers in the beginning of June.  Then more tender care of manual cross pollination, the flower got fertilised and produced some cutie little gree tomatoes.

Plant is just amazing and I just can't imagine how God sees each of the life He created on this earth.

We were certainly joyful to see the blossoms of pretty yellow flowers and little green tomatoes.  I am sure God would be most joyful to see His children living on this earth.  And when we do what God made us to do, then God would be over the moon, saying 'That is my boy, That is my girl', my good and faithful servants.

I do pray that God will teach David and I to do His will in our earthly lives.

Praise be unto Jesus Christ, our LORD!

Sermon inspiration continues....

Ministry happens when you use your shape, your spiritual gift, your heart, ability, personality and experiences.

Everyone of us can be a minister.  (However does not mean that you are a pastor)

Serve God free, means to be available (Matt 20:30-32)
We must be willing to be disturbed at times.

1st Barrier - Self centreness (Phil 4:2)

2nd Barrier - Perfectionism (i.e., I would like to do it well, be very responsible), it can hinder, delay us in serving God. God, I am no sure if I can do it well, every person called, none of us are qualified.  God will qualify those He called.  GoOd uses ordinary people, foolish people, hopeless people, who has no future, God uese you!  That is the great thing! Don't wait for perfect circumstances or condition before you decide to serve God.

3rd Barrier - Materialism (Luke 16:13)
God will propser people, beyond materialism.  God is faithful, He will take care of you.  Putting God first, His church, His people, God will put you first!

Serving like Jesus means being Grafeful.
When we serve, it should be a sense of opportunity, not a sense of obligation. (John 11:41-42)
Not just be available, but be grateful!

It is true, God bless me more when I serve Him.  I grew more, being equipped with more skills, skills of presentation,

1st Barrier - comparing and critizing
(Roman 14:4)

2nd Barrier - wrong motivation (Matt 6:1)
i..e out of guilt, want to be appreciated, wants attention... we knew when we lost the grateful heart, not knowing why I was involved in the ministry.

Serving like Jesus means being faithful

Sermon inspiration

Each one should use the gifts recieved to serve others 1 Peter 4:10

God, you equip me with the talents, skills needed

I'll just be a faithful stewart.

Pray that the skills and talents are not for the benefit for my own benefit and pleasure, but to benefit the world.

By your grace, keep me.  Concerete our lives.  Gifts you have given to us, pray that we will use it to serve the people in church, for Your glory.

**Pray that you will never allow the world to use your gift for the world's benefit.  Pray that you will give your skills and the talents to serve others and to use it for God's glory.  Wheather it is inside or outside the church, your heart knows.  That you use your intellegence for the work of God.  Never allow yourself to be devoured of the world.  It can never be exchanged for the wealth and gold of this world.  Set yourself apart and God will continue to pour into your lives.

You and I serve God is by serving others.  You and I are put here to serve God, and it is by serving people.

Japan arrival

After spending around one relaxing pampered month (01 May 2010 to 31 May 2010) in Hong Kong, it is time to set off to Japan to meet up my dear Hubby Chik. ^___^

Arrived in Narita Airport on 31 May 2010.  This visitin trip would be one month and 11 days (31 May to 10 Jul 2010).  Thank God that everything regarding the trip to Tokyo was so smooth.  Prayer does work!  As there are so many obstacles that can happen which just adds much more difficulties to the journey.  i.e. delayed bus to HK airport, extra charges with the little excess baggage weight with a tough 'immigrator', horrible plane journey by sitting next to a smelly person (sorry for being horrible but...),  touch baggage checks (bought kitchen knife in my posted luggage), tough immigrator at the Japan site which won't allow me through, tough baggage checker before exiting.

However, everything was smooth!  No person sitting next to me, immigration was all smooth, no trouble with the luggages.  Hun Hun was at the airport meeting me!

Then the next two days was welcomed by the sunshine and lovely pink flowers by the side of the road!

Praise the Lord!

First purpose from God for us - Worship God

Thank God that there is online sermon!

Five purposes from God for your life.  God has five reasons for creating us and place us here...

Rev 4:11 - You created everytyhing, and it is for your pleasure that they exist and were created.  You and I constantly brings joy to God.  We live in a imperfect world.  We have so much doubt of our existance.  You are created for God's pleasure / enjoyment. : >

1. Worship God (to love Him back) Mat 22:37-38 - Love the Lord your God, this iss the first and the greatest commandment!
Roman 12:1 - Because of God's great mercy..offer yourself as a living sacrifice to God.  Dedicating yourself to His service and His

Worship is my response of God's love.  Worship is a reaction, a respond, giving something to God.  If they can't respond to God, they are either dead physically or spiritually...

God initiates, then we appropiatly respond to Him.  He is the one who provides, protects.

When we receive from God, we say 'I am blessed'. So that we can respond to Him, by giving it back to Him, the blessing, that He gave us.

!Whenever you give anything back or offer anything to God, that is Worship!

When giving something back to God, it is not about what you give, it is about  your heart!
Just like a son giving a his favourite biscuit to his father.  The son didn't eat his favourite biscuit, saved the biscuit and give it to his father as a present.  The father can of course buy huimself many biscuits, and also he is the one who buys biscuits for his son.  Father don't need the biscuits, but it pleases the father when his son offer something back to his father/parents.  It is not about what the son gives, it is about his heart!

Mark 12:30 - love your God with all your soul, all your mind and all your strength.  God wants us to love Him thoughtfully, passionatly and practically.  God wants us to think through.  It must be thoughful.  It is not about how expensive the present it but thoughtful.  Passion must be there (all yu rmind).  God wants us to practically (with all his strength), it means the talents you have.

God doesn't have our attention unless we give him, taht is loving God with our mind
God doesn't have our affection, all our heart and soul
God doesn't have our ability, action, that is loving God with all our strength
Attention, affection and our ability are all from God.  It is God who enables us to action!
All these ablity is made possible because God has made it possible!  Who are we His creation, so smal, so tiny, yet we can give something back to God...our attention, our affection, our ability.

First purpose - Focusing my attention on God!  That is worship!

God wants us to use our mind to focus on Him.  Just going through the motion, we do things religiously, and dont' even think through, i.e. because we have sang the songs for a long time.

When we fall in love with God, we think about Him all the time.  Our attention, our focus is on Him all the time.  Fix your attention on Him.  We can't focus on two things at a time.

Worship is expression my affection to God.  When singing praises, we can raise our hands, dance to express our affection to God.  May be we really need to get a glimps of this great God, then we show our affection.

Worhsip is using my ablities for God.  Love is active.  Col 3:23 - What ever you do, work at it with all your heart as you are working for God, not for people.  God wants us to serve Him with our action.

Most important reminder to me is this.....
You can't change who you are working for.  When you change, but when you change your mentality, you are working for God and not for man.  It is not about what you do tomrorow, it is about who you are doing it for.
It is about who you are doing it for.  What is God's will for me, what how and when does God want me to do?!  Why do you do it, is the most important question.

All that I have, I give it back to God.  If this is prayer...
Help us to worship you by focusing our attention on you.  To worship you affectionaly.  To love you passionatly with all our hearts and soul.  To use the ability you have given us to worhsip you practically in action.  In Jesus' name we pray

Chik Ma and Chik Ba's dinner

On 19 May 2010, I was being invited to have a lovely dinner at Chik Pa and Chik Ma's house.

They cooked lovely food such as fish, roast pork, crab, prawn with eggs, vegetables with shredded scallops on top, Shanghai salty pork steamed with winter melon.  Just between the two of us.  Little David Hun can only eat with his eyes from the pictures. ^___^

Love to David-san! XXXXX

Today's joke

Today at home, my mum was using a toothbrush to clean the Ginseng.  After cleaning the Ginseng, she was about to throw away the used tooth brush, the brown dirty tooth brush.

Then my dad asked a very practical question.
So you are going to throw away the toothbrush?  in his mind, he doesn't want to 'waste' that toothbrush.
Then mum said' So we are going to give it to you for brushing your teeth'.
I then bursted out laughing!!

Ok, it may not sound very funny to you, but at that moment, spoken in Cantonese, it was very funny indeed.

My dad's expression was o___o"""""

What destination lei?

.....=^__^=.....

Was thinking where should we go for our future honeymoon....hehehe

Japan Fuji Mountain?  Sappora? Kiujiu (can't spell off the top of my head)?
Austrialia - Great Reef Barrier?
Egypt?
Thailand - Krabi? Koh Phi Phi Island?
Malaysia - Lankawi?
US - Blue Mountain? Costa Rica (rain forest but second thought with the yellow fever injection)? Mexico? Peru (animals)?
Caribbean?
Hawaii?

Wah, just too many places I wanted to visit!!!!!! *____*

Niu and Jocelyn's wedding day 09 May 2010

It was a great gather time in Malaysia!

Suppose to go to Lankawi on 02 May 2010 with the rest of the Southampton beauties Shui Yun, Joyce Lau and Qing Mac...however, I had to stay in Hong Kong.  Hence, I arrived in Kuala Lumpur (KL) on 07 May 2010.

Had a slight panic time when I saw no one at the airport upon arrival.  Luckily, they haven't forgot to pick me up from the airport....hehehe.

Shui Yun has been great to pick us up, organise our Malaysia trip, as well as organising Niu's wedding.  Must be super tired for her.

It was unfortunate that Yan Taw and Kang Ing couldn't come.  Good news arrived from Kang Ing and his wife!  Yan Taw was busy in TaiWan.  Even so, we had a good gathering with Wee Lee, Chong Yew, Shui Jin (Shui Yun's elder sis).

The wedding banquet was good.  It was an entertaining time because they all sing!  Niu's mother dance Cha cha cha.  Niu's dad sang seven old fashion Chinese songs.  Now I understand where does Niu's voice comes from!  Even Jocelyn sang with Niu as they enter.  It was an entertaining Wedding time.  May God bless they marriage life together.  United in Heart Forever and Grow Mature together! ^__^

Dinner time at Kowloon Sheng

15 May 2010

Dinner night with Chik Ma's family side, her sixth sister, plus her husband, her son and her daughter together with Chik ma's seventh brother with his elder daughter (from New York) and Anna, William's family.  Chik ma's sixth sister had been to Japan for two years, was in New Jersy for several years, then back to HK for 10 years until now.

It was a good dinner time with them.  There are in total six kids.  They all liked the sweet toy I gave them.  Thank you card was also passed to Chik ma's brother for grandfather, younger auntie and elder auntie.  Uncle was very generous and gave a big fat red pocket for David and I's wedding gift.

Do pray that God will bless Bliss and may God continue to heal her little heart.  Pray that God's strength would be with her, in her every walking step.  Pray for her brother Benjamen that God will take care of him, his studies.  Pray that God will conitnue to grant strength to the family, may God's strength, peace and love be filled in the mother's heart.  May their faith be strengthen.

I can only get a glimse of what the family had to go through.  It already looks quite hard already.  However, thank God that the little Bliss' life is given.

Also when they had a discussion on how to bring up their children, a heavy heart was in me...  It seems like everyone would want their kids to excell in study, sports, chess, music, art....etc.  However, does that really do good to the kids?  How does God want to raise up kids?  I trust that God's word is the blue print to life and also to raising up kids too!  Proverbs especially..... ;>  May God prepare David and I to raise up our family.  If God willingly, grant us healthy God glorfying kids!  In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Days of Noah 3_inspiration from HKICA

Luke 17:26-35

What are the lessons we learn from Noah.

Applying what you learn, truth applied that can make a difference, make an impact.

Noah = rest / comfrot (what Noah means in Hebrew)

Noah walked with God.......................

We must walk with God first!  Means we follow Him.  We will NOT miss out anything when we follow GOD!

When we follow God, sucess will follow you.

Gen 6:3
......His days would be 120 years.......  God is saying men's life is too long before Noah.  Noah's father lived 777 years.  Long life with wrong living, wickness increase.  To contain evil, God give them a short life.  Their life is so long for the wrong reason, for the wrong purpose.  It is not about the length of live but the depth of live.  It is about the impact that we will make.

We must be a full time Christian!  Not weekend, part time, some time Christian.

What is your vision?

Tuesday, 13 April 2010

If you're not choosing to spend regular time with God, then you're choosing to die spiritually.

A very good reminder indeed!!!

In many cultures, life is centered around food. Very few people in the western world would go for more than 10 or 12 hours without food or drink. Besides the fact that food is built into culture, doing so would make one very hungry.

Many people wouldn't dare going physically hungry; yet they starve themselves spiritually. If you ate food only once a week, you'd certainly die of starvation and malnutrition. Yet countless Christians do exactly that in their spiritual lives.

It is no wonder that Jesus called himself the bread of life (John 6:35). In order to grow spiritually, you must feed on spiritual food -- God's word.

Have the attitude found in Isaiah 26:8: Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts. Make it your desire to know God better.

When you regularly spend time with God -- praying, seeking him, and studying his word -- you will thrive spiritually. Take some advice from the psalmist: Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always (Psalm 105:4).

Make time with God a priority in your live. If you made being well fed spiritually as important as be well fed physically, your relationship with God would thrive.

Ikebukuro day

Saturday 10 April, we went to Ikebukuro for shopping and gaming!

Japanese places are full of games, slot machine, arcades.  Surprisingly, they are not restricted to kids..  Many kids were at the horse betting machine....?!

Then Hun relunctly spent 500 yen on six rounds of toy picking machine...  which he was so sure I can't pick the toy I wanted with that 500 yen.  Guess what?  On the very last round, I got Chi-ku the chicken and the rabbit! ^___^

Now the toy is named Chi-ku, the purple eye tenden, mustash root fat lip chicken.  A bonus rabbit (wearing green prisoner shirt) was attached to one arm of the picker machine whilst getting Chi-ku...  haha.  David-san was surely surprise too!

It was a great fun first Ikebukuru day!

Noah's time

Noah's time is just like today.

Everyone go about their normal business, eating, drinking, doing business.... Luke 17:28

Gen 6:9
Heb 11:7

Noah was excited and become commited
Noah was passonate and become ...
Noah walked with God

Christians in the last day.  Pure church.  A church that walks with God will always be pure in life, in heart, in mind, in action, in every area...

Eph 5:27 - Pure church!
Rev 19:27 - For the wedding feast of the lamb and the bride prepared herself
Rev 21:9 - Show you the bride, the wife of the lamb, bride is awaiting for her bridegroom.

Matt 13: 24-43 - Parable of the weeds

Why did God ask Noah to build an Ark?  The ark is big!  So Noah will be spending most his time building.  People would have noticed the ark, and will be the talk of the town because it is so big and huge!  Big churches impact the community, in a way that others (smaller churches) cannot.

Are you ready to obey God?

Story about Mary, Martha and Lazarus.  Jesus asked Mary and Martha rolled the stone away, Jesus, a strong man can certainly roll the stone away, He can even roll away the stone with super-natural power....but Jesus asks them to roll the stone away before Lazarus is resurrected.

Mary and Martha, if you do the natural, God will do the super-natural.

You do the ordinary, God will do the extraordinary!

If you help yourself, God will help you!

But we have to roll away the stone first!!!

Are you going to do the ordinary, natrual for God?!  Pray that David and I would know what kind of Ark we are building / are going to build.  Pray that our faith is continued to be built up.

Praise the Lord!

Challenging Sermon!

Will you be the bride of Christ?
Will you marry Christ?
Are you still playing around with Christ?
Are you flirting around with Christ?
Are you just passionate with Christ but no devotion is made?

Love relationship, the keyword is now 'Passion', all Passion....

!Being a Christian is passion with devotion to Christ!

Are you driving too slow on the fast lane?
(like lot's wife, she was described of walking slow, eventually she looked back, then turned into a salt pillar because she is so into Sodom and Gomorrah).  24 hours ago she met the angel of the Lord and she is so close to being save, but she looked back...

Only if we truely understand the spirit's authority, then we will pray more as a church, pray more as and individual, pray more for our children, pray more for our parents.

Alleluia!

Another happy day with my Hun Hun David...  hehehe

Not a happy moment for mum as she is not feeling well....

Many mix feelings can happen on one day...

05 - 06 Feb 2010 - Christians reflectioon on 2007-2010 financial crisis...

05 eb 2010
This really really ancient friend - Flora Lai met up with me in Sham Shui Po that Friday night.  We had dinner in TCT cafe, then dessert in HK dessert near Mong Kong Langham place.  We spent three hours chatting none stop about our previous life in Westwing School, Clifton High School....  It was indeed good!

06 Feb 2010
Open day in Cheung Chau Alliance Bible Seminary School.  We had the honour to met Ca Chair, my long time good friend/ brother in Southampton, who is currently studying his second year there.  David and I also had the houour to meet the CEO of Fortis (David YF Yu) to gave a talk on Finance title - A Christian's reflection on the 2007-2010 Financial crisis.  Below is the short presentation.

Impact of the Financial crisis
-Banking crisis
-Plunging asset price
-Rising unemployment
-Soring fiscal commitment / deficit
-Replacement of government / oficial

Events prompting the crisis
-US housing bubble
   -Loan incentives
   -Low interest rate
   -large inflow o foreign funds
   -liquidity
   -mortgage frauds
-Financialization (CDO, MBS, ARM)
-Rating agency /modelling
-Commodity bubble
-Government/ deregulation

Financializaztion
Dead donkey.  A farmer promised to sell a donkey to a young business man at a price of 100 dollars.  However, before the donkey got sold, it died.  So the farmer told the business man that donkey died.  The business man said nevermind, sell me the donkey still and I can sell it out.  So the business set up a raffle tickets by selling them at 10 dollars each and sold to 11 people.  The thing He told the rafflers are that ticket no. 1 can get the donkey.  So ticket no. 1 person came to collect it, and realised he had won a dead donkey.  The business man then told him, don't worry, I will give you two dollars back and you can also keep the donkey.  This is how the finance company make money.

!The business nowadays are not capital based, but finacialization method based!  This is why problems comes.

Remecial action
-Central banksproviding funds to encourage lending
-Bailing out key financial institutions
-Economics stimulus programs
-New control measures
-Public Relations

Are the remedial actions the bes means of restoring economic 'health'?
-The implicit belief that unleashed appetite and consumption represent 'health' is delusional
-The remedial actions continuethe basic bad habits we have develped, premised upon the beli that deeper debt preduces greater growth
-The moral dimension o the crisis is not tackled

A deeper crisis - Moral crisis
-'Greed is good' - Manager's captalism
-Sound ethical standards are discarded as outmoded 'Good guys finish last'.  Individual and corporate cultures not guided by principles and purposes beyond 'short term profits and economic terms.'
-Freedom is defined negatively - the absence of constraint.  Consumption, massive personal and collective debt are manifestations of 'unleasehd appetite' in the name of freedom.

A christian's stance on wealth
-Greed alienates us from God
-The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it' (Psalm 24:1).  Our ultimate good consists in being rightly related to Him, not to any o the things His world contains.
-We must conform fully to te image o Christ, whatever that may demand of us.
-Christians are commanded 'to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share' (1 Tim 6:18).  Sharing should be the default mode for Christians.

Biblical teaching
-The Talents -the servant rewarded is the one who ulitilizes that money as a tool to be utilized in promoting whatever God's goals are.
-The Eye o the Needle - money is not evil.  It's very difficult not to yield to the temptations o money and make it our god, but doesn't mean it can't be done.
-Utilize the economic system and money and conduct our vocation consisten with our underlying faith values

Biblical teaching
-Path of the righteous - Proverbs 4:18-19
The path of the righteous is like the first glea o dawn, shining ever brighter till the ull light o day.  But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble.
-Golden Rule - Matthew 7:12
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

A more moral captalism
-The conomic system s part of God's plan
- The vision of captalism is to lift the poor out o poverty and human sufering that's prevalentin the world.  Until all are lifted, the task is not done.
-Putting the stability of the entire system above one's own person al gain
-God is in the details.  The more perfectly we do our - the more God is honoured.

Observation
-Challenging ethical and moral issues o the modern economy
-Many financial/business persons have ailed, thus church support is crucial
-Few seem to understand the moral dimention or have sympathy for the calling of business, and encourage business as a Christian calling
-Let's be prepared to provide guidance regarding the unique opportunities, restraints, and temptations o the businesspersons' calling.

After attending the above talk, we listened a talk on 'Creat happy little readers'.  Teaching adults how to give their children the books, with cartoons that their child like, colour books, huge words on one large and meaningful.  I just know that after lisstening to this talk, God's great wisdom on bring up children is greatly needed!

12 Feb 2010

Got a little bit free time, so I have been going back time to 'blog' down my special time spent in HK.

On 12 Feb 2010, met up with my UK university friend Yan Taw Boon.  As he would be in HK.  Went to the banks and opend HSBC bank and investment account.

It was a good time to catch up with uni friend, just bring back the good memories.

Try the roasted bun with condensed millk, which was delicious!  Yum Yum

Valentine 2010

Sweet day on 13 Feb 2010.  David and I celebrated our valentine's day one day in advance.  As on the 14 Feb 2010, it is also the Chinese New Year (CNY) day which we won't have good quality time together because we planned to visit families on CNY.

Hehehe..  that day we met at 10:00am in HK victoria park.  Then there is this handsome white prince named David, waiting for her snow white princess with a bunch of red roses.  This special bunch of red roses was decorated with pretty cute white and purple little flowers, wrapped round by a nice net with yellow glass paper, plus there is wet cotton at the bottle to prevent dryness..  What a detail sweet thought.  Guess who can make this nice special bunch of roses?  ......da da da da.....  David, my white prince charmine!  Also, there is aeroplane olives (Chinese style herbed), with a pretty box of heart shape chocolate..  I am so touched....

.....I love you my dearest!  ^3^

Thank God that we met!  Thank God that He is love so human would know what love is and can experience part of it!  Just thank God.......

Happy New Year

14 Feb 2010 - First day of the year of Tiger

It is also a Sunday so I went to the Hong Kong spirit food church in Causeway Bay with Chik's family and David's sister together with her son Bryant.

We had a great sermon on Five blessings from God.

Then we went for Yum Cha together at Jade Garden.  That day was the day when Bryant, the little boy and I talked most since we have met for a few times.  It was great and he is a cute clever boy!

Then David's mum and dad drove me back home and said Happy New Year to my parents too.  It was a good time and a blessing time indeed.  Thank God for such meaningful time.

Mum is much better, althought she claims to have tummy ache, slight dizziness and little 'redness' which is not very good.  Thank goodness that on the 15 Feb 2010, David's dad had a look at mum and prescribed her some chinese medicine.

Big and small sermon

www.icahk.tv/index.html

A good website for listening to online sermon from International Christian Assembly church.

It is their 35th annerversaries

What I learned.... in Zechariah 4:6 - Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord Almighty
  • God can make big things small
  • Opportunities from God are often seens as impossible
  • He doesn't know what to do, but know who to go to
  • Are you facing a big mountain ahead of you?
  • Zech 4:6
  • Gaxeing higher, growing closeer, going further, it is not just gazing, but higher, not just growing, but closer, it is not just going somewhere, but much further.
  • there will be many obstacles before us so we can gaze higher
  • there will be many high mountain
  • many diffculties before we can go further
  • God uses difficulties in order for us to be blessed
  • God uses problems to direct us, to inspect us
  • God uses mountains to correct us
  • God uses problems to protect us
  • All all times, God uses problems and diffcutulties to perfect us
  • He turn seemly defect to amazing victory
  • He makes the impossible, possible
  • He turn the big things into small, like turn the red sea into dry land
  • God rain manna to feed the Isarel
  • God stops sun to let Isarel victory
  • Luke 18:27, God makes impossible, possible

  • What is your mountains now?
  • Is your sickenss, financial, marriage, children?
  • You may say you have a lot of problem, not  just  one, today, but accumulate
  • GOD WILL TURN THOSE BIG PROBLEM INTO SMALL
  • HE WILL MAKE  A WAY FROM NOWAY
  • Jerimiah was told that Is there anything too hard for God?
  • 1 Cor 1:26-29 -
  • Don't underestimate small things
  • sling stone that kill Gloati, wooden staf that departed the red sea, mustard seeds of prayer that move mountains, two small fishes that fed 5000
  • God loves / takes pleasure in using small things and turn it big
  • God delights in doing big things in using small, seamingly insignificant things
  • God prefers the huble, not the proud
  • God prefers the weak, not the strong
  • God's power is made perfect in weak
  • Doing big things in God's kingdom, not our ability, it is about our weakness, our smallness.
  • Still we need to keep the spirit of smallness
  • Not just something to live on, but there is something to live for
  • It is better to die for something, than nothing to live for
  • Do you have something to live for, to die for?
  • Offer your smallness to God and see what God can do in your life
  • Jesus needed 12 disciples to turn the world and is still impacted by those 12
  • God does make small things big
  • The directors are just as human as you and I....but the only diference is we are prepared to offer what we are to God
  • We are a church of ordinary people which church is doing extraordinary things
  • Pray that God will use our ordinaryness and that he will make a difference, and in Him, it will become extraordinaryness...

Mum's final injection!

Praise the Lord!  Today 03 Feburary 2010 is my mum's sixth - the final chemotherapy injection.  Praise God that all six treatment went smoothly.  Indeed thank God.

Yes, with the FAC + T treatment, there are times when she just wants to sleep, no appetite to eat, throw out things and intense stomach and headache.

The first three injections with FAC drug in combination, her first week is bad.
Day 0 - injection
Day 1 - she is still fine
Day 2 - Day time is alright until the night time and she starts sensing the drugs' side effects.  Red cheeks, large amount of hairs starts to fall out with sllight pull, headache.
Day 3 - throwing out, tummy pain and has to take drugs to sooth her tummy
Day 4-day 7 - throwing out, lose appetite, red cheeks, tired most times, just wants to sit around the sofa corner and do nothing
Day 8 - day 21 - much better without taking drugs.  Can walk around so we go out to yum cha and shopping.  Her body is still weak and needs a lot of sleep

The last three injections with Taxotere single drug treatment has a different 'bad' effects.  Although she claims that it is less severe than the first FAC treatments, she has no appetite at all.

First 3 days - As she is taking the steroid to reduce side effects, she is totally fine.  Although her face is slighly red, she is still eating and walking around.
Day 4 - Day 14 - Side effects kicks in as she is no longer under steroids.  These includes red cheeks, no appetite, just plain rice porriage she eats.  Her tummy is very unwell, her face and eye is a bit swollen.
Day 14 - Day 21 - much better on her third week.  At least her sense of taste is better, her tongue is no longer that white.  Her appetite is better.

So Praise God indeed.  May our Lord continue bless my mum's health.  Strengthen her body day by day.  Strengthen her faith day by day.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Haiti earthquake...

.... happened on my birthday 12 Jan 2010.  It was indeed sad to see the earthquake.  What is even sadder is that the prisoners escaped and just hurt people by knife, gun and stole the food resource.

Pray that God will show His mercy to that place.  Pray that enough daily resource is given to the needy.  May God bless and restored that place.  Most importantly that the Holy spirit will use the Christians over there to spread God's love to Haiti people.  Amen.

Doctor doctor...

Accompanied mum to QEH today.  This would be her last chemotherapy doctor's appointment....as it will be her final 6th chemotherapy injection on 03 Feb 2010!  Thank God!!!  My mother surely can't wait. ^__^

Tried a wasabi fillet O fish burger at Mcdonald today...it is quite nice.

Defragment my Sony Vaio

Spent about 8 hours.....to defragment my computer.  Including three times of disk clean up, it has freed up around 10 GB of disk space!  So much junk!!!!

Ok, after confirmation, the clay pot was indeed not washed and I cooked with it..... no wonder I am not feeling well......  : <  Just pray that the masty things would be elimiated by my amazing body.

Japan Plane ticket David-san

David-san bought his plane ticket to Tokyo today from Egl travel agent, flying with Cathay Pacific.

He would be leaving on 15 Feb 2010.....  One day after Chinese New Year.....

Not feeling well this afternoon + one fish died

Suspected it is because of the proud clay pot rice I made...... -_-"

Think I didn't wash the new clay pot enough.  The painted cover may have come off and attached with the cooked rice which I ate.  So the whole afternoon until now, I am dizzy, have a headache, body pain.  Slept for about 3 hours and still feels dizzy whenever you move heads.....  sign.

Health is indeed important so may God bless us a healthy life and keep it that way until the day to heaven!

Another sad news....

One salty fish died.  The big one always bully the small one and finally died... poor thing.

Big Wave Bay - First time driving in HK!

Back on the 30 Oct 2009, David drove me in HK for the first time!

We went to Big wave bay and caught some salty fish.  A new salt water fish tank was then set up.

Can you spot them?

As time goes on... the zebra fish grew bigger and stronger and bacame a big bully.
The shrimps had all disappeared as they change their shell, the fish attacked and ate them...

Fishy Shrimp is 'pregnant'

We suspected for some time that our red Japanese Shrimp is pregnant.  Hence, I bought a small tank and placed the two red shrimps together.  Hoping that they would produce some eggs and baby shrimp la. ^__<
The darker one is the female, may be?!  See her tummy...

English churches

23 Jan 2010, David has recieved the working Visa from Japan.  Thank God!  That day we visited Hong Kong university and took some pictures too.

22 Jan 2010, we had a good evening time in Kwun Tong at the APM with dinner and casual chat.

24 Jan 2010, we visited an English congregation church in Tsim Sha Tsui in YMCA.  It is an Evangelical church with many foreigners and English speaking Chinese.  The worship session was quite good, however, the sermon session is a bit borning....i.e Irene was sitting down fisshing half way throught -_-"

Last Sunday 17 Jan 2010, we went to the International Christian Association church in North Point.  It is also conducted in English.  The worship session was too vibrant.  The sermon session was very good and funny, compared with the Evangelical church. :-p

Thursday, 21 January 2010

A new Sinomax mattress was delivered.  It was much softer / more comfortable than the solid hard 'board' that mum was sleep on when she has backache.  It was very nice..... ^__^

Yesterday, David-san and I had a long long conversation on some matters....  Although we ended up conversation with those three words, but  I am not happy...

This morning, I was wishing that THE man would sing the below song to me

K-Ci and JoJo - All my life......   It is a very sweet song.......  still dreaming that THE man would appear

Photo organising time

Hehehe...  today, I woke up early.  As usual, did the little good house wife would do, go down to market, get the fresh veg and meat for the day.  Prepare the food and then clean up the house.  The rest of the afternoon.... well...it's time to organise my many photos taken recently and in my recent holidays.

Two birthday cards for Margaret and Malcolm was drawn.  They are indeed our (sister and I's) good old guardian for a long long long time.  Think is is about 15 years we have known each other.  ^ o ^  May 2010, bring them good health, many good holidays and joyous time.

300 GB is not enough for a laptop.......  too many rubbish videos and photos...hence this pic organising time..

Am getting back to it now. ^____^

Mum not well...ended with Thank our Heavenly Father!

Yesterday 19 Jan 2010....  mum was not feeling well.  Her face was almost green, her tummy is extremely painful  to a point that she howls. and she threw up some stuff.  Apologise for this detail explanation

Poor mum.  So I prayed secretely or her that God would heal her, take away or reduce her pain.  After the 'stuff' got thrown out, she then felt a bit better and just sleep sleep sleep.  We suspected that she had those instant noodles and fish balls which didn't made her well..  Silly cook (me)

Also, I have updated our old 'pasta' of what happen that I had resiged my Lonza job in Sep 2009 to be in HK with mum.  Asking for as many people as possible to pray for her...as well as my future. :>

Indeed God listens to prayer.  That night, Hun Hun called and we had a good hour of chat and a short prayer at the end of conversation.  Thank God that he allowed us to meet miraculiously in UK.  Thank God that both believe in the same Heavenly Father.  Thank God that our love sparks.  Thank God that through the heated discussion, we came to understand, and love each other at a deeper level.  Thank God that through Him, we can encourage each other during hard times (like the recession job seeking time).

Thank God and Praise Him!

quiet time

Today 18 Jan 09, is indeed a good restful and quiet time for me.  To hear sermons, update my blog, be close with God, be reflective of self.  The Discipline of solitude that is wanted and voila, I got it today.  Thank God!

Am cooking potato, tomato pork soup.  Then steam egg later.  Now I am going to make juice for ma ma
Had a great time on 17 Jan 09.

Attended ICA (International Christian Assembly) in North Point.  There are many Philipinos, some English speaking Chinese, some English people there.  There are three pastors in that church.  The worship session is very vibrant...like some people are dancing and jumping...  to start with, it was a bit too vibrant for us.  The sermon was very good.  The pastor's name I forgot...hehe, but he is a singaporean. Can hear him speak some Singalish and make singaporean jokes.

The sermon was about being Light to this world.  Matthew 5:14-16.
He cracked some jokes regarding light and one of which is that how many chirasmatic does it need to change a light bulb?  Just one as one would already had his hand up in the air.... ^__^  got it?

There are many types of light a Christian can be.  There is the...
Christmas light - once a year christian
Candle light - strong when inside, weak when being placed in storm
On/Off light - on and off, not consistent, i.e.luke warm
Spot light - good at small area but very bright
light house - good a variety of things but not strong light
reflective light - Christian are called to be reflective of Jesus' light.

Light are mend to be placed on the lamp stand to light up the whole house, not to be placed under a bowl.  It is only placed under the bowl when the family is not at home, not at home so the candle light won't burn the house.  However, we are in the house of God, therefore light should be on the lamp stand.  Why is it under the bowl so no one can see the light?  This bowl can be shyness, can be fear, self centreness, own schudual, own plans.  Being a good witness is not about you or the other, it is solely about Jesus!

The sermon is good as it inspires and remimnds people about God's word...

As the worship and sermon time were conducted in English, so I am quite comfortable with it.  Next Sunday, shall try out the Evagelical church in YMCA in Tsim Sha Tsui which is also conducted in English.  Sham Shui Po's Cheung Sha Wan church is also good.  Shall try to attend next next Sunday... ^__^

2010 Birthday

On 12-13 Jan 2010....

Had a great time in Macau with David. =^__^=
Thank you so much dear!

Apart from that 'big three bar' church, only the front part was real, every other 'historical' building was using extremly bright colours, i.e. fake.  Surprisingly enough, the pictures turned out alright.  The only vibrant thing was the many dazzling gambling buildings and the smoky casinos.  Gambling was not in our minds at all but the temptation was indeed there...... -_-"

We stayed in this five start Sofitel hotel in Ponte 16 which was very good.  Plus we got upgraded to an executive room!  Woo....excutive room ah!  ^.^ Ate loads of shark fins (mind you, they are the tiny little fins that I had to zoom in 3 times in order to view them), the famous pork chop roll.  Tried many roast pork slices egg roll and almond biscuits.  Played an exciting video game called metal slug 7.  We were so good at it that within 10 minutes, 10 dollars were spent with 2 dollars per game.  So 1 dollar per minute...  Aren't we the expert?

I am back

Guess I am not the e-blogger person....but still have the urge to update myself every so often.

Ater all, it is never too late.. ^__^
